Hello and welcome to the Interns’ Snapshot! We, Arielle Waks and Hayley Landman, are the summer interns at Cooperative Homecare and will be blogging about the ins and outs of homecare, Cooperative, and new geriatric products.
Last Thursday evening, the Waks family hosted the first of what they hope to be many parties for Cooperative management, sales employees, allies such as doctors and assisted living directors, and friends—and we were invited to attend. Great music, great food, and great comrodery all were on display at the exciting event.
The purpose of the get-together was to create and maintain personal relationships between Cooperative and people working in care facilities, doctors, and anyone else who shares the commonality of working with individuals in need of outside care and support. Although business cards were exchanged, there was no discussion of business or work in this social environment. The evening was about getting to know one another outside of the business setting, so that when we communicate on a regular basis there is a level of comfort and security and confidence that otherwise might not exist.
We asked the intake nurse, Jessica Donaldson, what she thought about the party. Without missing a beat, she answered that it “was very fun. All of the referral sources had a great time, and the house was beautiful. Everyone felt like the party was a lot of fun and very welcoming.” Her sentiment is shared by everyone here at Cooperative, and “…a fun time was had by all” according to Jill Bachman, executive admin to the CEO. Even young summer interns (the two of us) enjoyed the start-of-summer bash. We saw friendly bonds being made and strengthened–bonds that will help us better serve you.
