On National Doctors’ Day, Cooperative celebrates our Medical Directors! Dr. Anthony Margherita, physiatrist, is our Missouri Home Health Medical Director. In Illinois, internist Dr. Tibor Kopjas is our Home Health Agency Medical Director.
One way that we are unique is our medical oversight. Many home care agencies have limited or no nursing or physician oversight. Cooperative Home Care is licensed to provide Missouri Medicaid In-Home Services, Missouri Private Duty Nursing, Missouri and Illinois Medicare Home Health Care, and Illinois Home Services and Home Nursing. To participate in each of these programs, we complete a detailed and rigorous application followed by an initial inspection. After we are approved as providers, we have ongoing internal and external audits to ensure our programs are performing at the highest compliance levels.
As you research and choose your home care company, ask them about their licensing, accreditations, and nursing and medical supervision. Most “local” private duty agencies are actually national chains or franchises that are operating without any kind of oversight. Be informed as you make the best decision for your aging loved one!
