• Does your aging parent take prescription medications?
  • If you had to, could you jump in and pick-up where your aging parent left off, with their medication “system” (or lack thereof)?
  • Does your aging parent keep a current list of their medications including dosages?
  • Do they check with their doctor at every visit to ensure their medications and dosages are appropriate for their current medical needs and their current weight?
  • Are any of their medication combinations potentially dangerous?
  • Does food intake alter their medications’ efficacy?

Cooperative's Medi-plannerAfter people call us at 1-800-HOMECARE (in MO) or 1-618-HOMECARE (in IL), we often visit them in their home or hospital room for a free assessment that enables us to create a customized Private Services Care Plan. One common concern of adult children caring for their aging parent is how they will manage their aging parent’s medications. Particularly if they don’t live reasonably close to Mom and/or Dad, and are unsure about how consistently they can stop in to make sure medications are correctly dispensed and administered. What can you do?

If you answered yes to even one of the above questions, Cooperative Home Care offers a weekly nurse visit during which we can pack your aging parent’s medications for the week, as well as conduct a general health assessment that can later be shared with their physician. This Private Service costs $60 per week, includes our helpful medi-planner, and is available by calling us at 1-800-HOMECARE (in MO) or 1-618-HOMECARE (in IL), today!
