Medicaid Spend Downs and How to Pay Them
MoHealthNet for Disabled (Medicaid) Spend Downs and How to Pay Them
Medicaid applies Spend Downs to clients who earn above the income level to qualify for coverage. Every month, clients with a Spend Down must pay their Spend Down amount, before they can receive Medicaid services.
If you pay your Spend Down by the first day of the month, you will have continuous coverage for that month. If the Spend Down is not paid, your Medicaid case remains open, but you won’t have coverage for that month.
There are 3 ways to pay your Spend Down:
Automatic Withdrawal
This option allows for monthly payments to be directly withdrawn from your bank account on the 10th of each month.
