WHAT ARE YOUR OPTIONS?

IL Medicaid CDS & In-home

To qualify for Medicaid, you need to meet certain financial and medical requirements. Medicaid is managed on a state-by-state basis and is intended for people with low incomes and disabilities. To be eligible financially, you must earn around $1000 or less per month as an individual or $2000 or less per month for a family. Additionally, you must require assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, using the bathroom, and walking to be eligible for in-home services through Medicaid. To participate in the Consumer Directed Services (CDS) program, you must also have the ability to train, direct, and employ your caregiver with the assistance of our team. The approval process for in-home services/CDS typically takes about 30 days from the time you apply. At Cooperative, we assist both new and long-time clients with the in-home services/CDS program.

Veterans Affairs

The Department of Veterans Affairs provides two primary types of home care. The first is fee-based services, while the second is offered through the Aide and Attendance pension. If you are a veteran who served on active duty status for at least one day during a time when our country was officially at war, you may qualify for this pension. It will reimburse you for part of your home care expenses.

Health Insurance

Your health insurance policy may pay for skilled services prescribed by your physician.

Long-term Care Insurance

Individuals have the option to enroll in long-term care insurance as early as their 40s. This requires paying a monthly premium that varies according to the policy. Policies also differ in terms of the amount of paperwork necessary to access benefits, approved services (such as skilled care, assisted living, caregiver visits or a combination), and the cost of monthly premiums. Choosing the most suitable policy for your anticipated long-term needs can be a significant challenge.

If you have long-term care insurance, we can assist you in understanding and accessing your benefits.

Worker's Compensation Insurance

This insurance will pay for your medical needs as a result of a work-related accident or injury. Cooperative offers a specialized Worker’s Compensation Program.

Reduced Fee

Cooperative Home Care is a program that offers reduced fees for those who need home care solutions affiliated with United Way. This program allows eligible individuals to pay what they can afford per hour for home care solutions. To qualify, one must meet both financial and clinical requirements, and there may be a waiting list to receive care.

Private Services (Self Pay)

After examining every other funding option: Medicaid, VA, Health Insurance, Long-Term Care Insurance, Worker’s Compensation Insurance and Reduced Fee Programs, clients may pay out-of-pocket for some or all of their home care solutions.
